North is to the RIGHT in the RAW (LEVEL 0) Polaris data (the pgm image files). East is UP in these RAW (LEVEL 0) Polaris data (the pgm image files). If using "xv" for LEVEL 0 data browsing, on the "xv" main window there is a COUNTER-CLOCKWISE rotation arrow. Click it ONCE (i.e., a 90 deg CCW rotation) and the orientation of the image is similar to that of the raw (not the CSA distributed, which is horizontally flipped) Wilbur ASI data, wherein North is UP and East is on the LEFT hand side.
NOTE: RAW (LEVEL 0) data is not intended for distribution. A Horizontal Flip and a 90 degree CCW rotation will be applied to the data to generate LEVEL 1 distribution data wherein North is up and East is on the right hand side, the most intuitive(?) orientation.
